Does a Warhammer box come with paints, glue, a brush and a rulebook?
It depends on the box. Of the boxes below, only the Getting Started boxes and the 10th Edition Introductory Set list paints, and none of them lists glue or a primer. Printed rules or a handbook come in the Starter Set, Armageddon, the Introductory Set and the Kill Team Starter Set. The Getting Started boxes and Combat Patrols rely on the free app.
The simplest way to fill the gap is a Paints and Tools set, which holds a brush, clippers, a mouldline remover and 13 paints. The 11th edition one is £22.83 and is sold out at the moment; the 10th Edition one is £21.73 and is sold out at the moment.

The minimum shopping list
- Clippers to cut parts off the frame.
- A mouldline remover to scrape off the ridge the mould leaves.
- A brush and paints in the colours of your first squad.
- Plastic glue, unless every kit you own is push-fit.
- A primer, which no box lists. Our paints and tools guide covers the choice.
A Paints and Tools set covers steps one to three. The 10th Edition one is £21.73, and plastic glue is £4.15. Together they come to £25.88.
How to read a box before you buy
Look for the Contents block in the listing. If it lists paints, a brush or clippers, they are in the box. Our Starter Set and Combat Patrol listings carry a code and no contents list. For those we used Games Workshop's own descriptions and treated anything it does not name as not in the box. Trust the Contents block over the photos. The miniatures arrive unpainted.

Do Warhammer sets come with paints?
Some. The Getting Started boxes hold 11 paints and the 10th Edition Introductory Set holds 5. The 11th Edition Starter Set, Armageddon and the Kill Team Starter Set list none.
Does a Warhammer box come with glue?
None of the boxes we checked lists glue. Push-fit models, such as those in the Getting Started boxes and Armageddon, click together without it. For other kits, buy plastic glue.
Are Warhammer miniatures sold painted?
Our listings say the miniatures are supplied unpainted and some assembly may be required, so you build and paint them yourself.
Which Warhammer box includes clippers?
