Which Warhammer boxes are push-fit, so you need no glue?

Short answer

Push-fit models need no glue. These boxes are described that way: the 11th Edition Getting Started sets, Armageddon, the Kill Team Starter Set, the Age of Sigmar Introductory Set and the Tyranid Paint Set+. You still need clippers.

If a box does not say push-fit, add a pot of plastic glue, £4.15 here.

The boxes that say push-fit

Each row comes from a Games Workshop announcement or from the product text on our listing.

BoxWhere it says so
Getting Started with Space Marines (11th Edition)Games Workshop's 5 July 2026 announcement. Our listing counts "13x Push Fit Miniatures".
Getting Started with Orks (11th Edition)The same 5 July 2026 announcement. Our listing for this one does not use the word.
Armageddon (11th Edition)Both armies. Our listing calls the Space Marines and the Orks "Push-Fit Miniatures". A 26 May 2026 article calls the Ork Boyz a push-fit kit.
Kill Team Starter SetAll 14 models, according to Games Workshop's 14 October 2024 announcement.
Age of Sigmar Introductory SetAll 25 models. Our listing: "can be assembled without glue".
Tyranid Paint Set+Our listing: "only requiring clippers to assemble".

Boxes where nobody says push-fit

For the Combat Patrols, the 10th Edition Introductory Set and the Battleforce boxes, neither our listings nor the announcements we read use the word push-fit. Plan for glue.

A silent listing does not settle it: the Orks Getting Started listing says nothing about push-fit and Games Workshop's announcement does. When a box matters to you, ask us before you order, or buy the glue anyway at £4.15.

What push-fit costs you

Hobbyists who have built both kinds raise these points.

  • Fewer options. Push-fit versions of a kit often carry fewer weapon choices than the multi-part box of the same unit.
  • Visible seams. Push-fit joins can leave gaps along armour edges. Our page on gaps and seams covers the fix.

Some builders snip the pegs off and use plastic glue anyway, because it lets them assemble in any order. A push-fit box gets you painting this week.

What you still need

You still have to cut every part off its frame, and the Tyranid listing says plainly that you need clippers.

The 11th Edition Paints & Tools set (£22.83, sold out at the moment) includes a pair. Our guide to cutting parts off the sprue covers other clippers and how to use them without snapping anything.

Common questions

Do push-fit Warhammer models need any glue at all?

Not in the boxes listed above. Our listing for the Tyranid set says they need only clippers, and the Getting Started announcement says you do not need glue to get going. Some hobbyists still add glue to make joints permanent.

Can I use plastic glue on push-fit models?

Plastic glue works on them like on any other plastic kit, and some builders snip the pegs off and glue the parts instead. A pot of plastic glue is £4.15 here. Our page on plastic glue and superglue explains which to use.

Is the Kill Team Starter Set push-fit?

Games Workshop's announcement says all 14 miniatures in the box are push-fit. Ours is £57.28 (in stock), and the box needs clippers but no glue.

Are all starter sets push-fit?

Not all of them. The Getting Started sets, Armageddon, the Kill Team set and the Age of Sigmar Introductory Set are. We found no push-fit statement for the 10th Edition Introductory Set or the Combat Patrols, so treat those as glue kits.

Push-fit statements: Games Workshop announcements of 5 July 2026 (Getting Started sets), 26 May 2026 (Armageddon Ork Boyz) and 14 October 2024 (Kill Team Starter Set), and the product text on our own listings, read 29 October 2026.
