If you play Tomb Kings in The Old World, the Host of Nehekhara Army Reinforcement Set is worth it: 36 Skeleton Warriors, 36 Skeleton Archers and 6 Skeleton Chariots, all new plastic. Pre-orders open this week.
GW hasn't given a UK price yet, and the box is only around while stocks last. The Sunday Preview on 18 October only promised "next week", with no day. If you already play Tomb Kings, I'd pre-order on the first day. If you're new to Tomb Kings, read the Barrow Kingdoms rules in River of Bones before committing to 78 models.
A thread on r/WarhammerOldWorld asked whether 10 Skeleton Archers could be stretched into 2 units with some unit filler. The Host has 36, which covers both of those units with 16 to spare.
What the Warriors and Chariots come with
Warhammer Community calls them "the first new plastic Warriors, Chariots, and Archers for Warhammer: The Old World". The Warriors get interchangeable shields and a choice of spear or khopesh-style sword. The Chariots have their own command options, down to a musician, and the 6 chariots are the part I'd buy the box for.
There are 72 skeletons to paint, but bone is quick to batch paint. A brown wash over a light undercoat does most of the work, and a drybrush finishes it.
Skeleton Horsemen come separately, and there's no date
The new Skeleton Horsemen are a separate kit of 10 cavalry. They build as Skeleton Horsemen or Skeleton Horse Archers, so one kit covers either unit. GW showed them on 12 October but gave no date or price, so there's no reason to wait for them before deciding on the Host.
Wood Elf players only need the book
The new Arcane Journal, River of Bones, adds the Barrow Kingdoms Army of Infamy for Tomb Kings. It also has options for Gargantuan Treemen in Wood Elf Realms armies, so Wood Elf players can skip the skeletons and pick up the book. There's also a set of 20 bone-white dice (Tomb Kings icon on the six) and 54 reference cards. Both are while stocks last too.
